99 yamaha multi tach

99 yamaha/ Before I go and buy another gauge is there any way to test this gauge? looks very dim,like it got wet but I'm sure it didn't it was working fine when I primed the boat when I got on lake just started fading out and flickering. <br /><br />If I need to replace it can I go with the yamaha tach with oil and seprate temp gauge with rerigging the whole dash?
