I just lost a sale worth $1,000 dollars because I can't get my 25 horse mercury outboard to start. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here. I pull'd this motor and wireing harness off my pontoon boat. It ran great. When disconecting the wireing, I thought it was going to be a simple unplug, and plug back. But when I sat the motor in a barrel of water, and plug'd the wires up to it, I am getting no power from the ignition back to the starter. But can jump the cylonoid and have power. What am I foregetting to conect?
Is there a ground on the ignition, or something I am missing? My motor is a 2001, mercury 25 horse, stock number is 25EL.
It has a pull start on it as well, and can't start that way eigthor?
Can anyone help?

Re: A $1000 dollar day

Why wouldn't you run it BEFORE the buyer shows up, either the day of, or the night before to ensure that it's going to fire up when it needs to.

Like has said before, check kill switch, bulb priming, spark plugs, etc.

Good luck with the sell;
