A 2000 25 hp lower on a 1989 30 hp motor will it fit?

I have a 1989 30 hp short shaft and have available to purchase a 2000 short shaft lower from a 25 hp would it fit? Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. This is what I found from my research. The lower I was thinking of purchasing came from a 2000 3 cyl 25 hp. My motor is a 1989 30 hp with 2 cyl. All the 2 cyl lowers from 2000 down to 1989 that I looked at was the same part number. The 3 cyl is a different part number and I was told on another forum that it is in fact a different lower than the 2 cyl and will not fit.
