Re: A Big Thanks To My Fellow Boaters

I imagine the next time the older couple will know better, keep their mouths shut, and just keep the stuff...Maybe the older couple are on a fixed income and are about to lose their home, and feel rich boaters can afford the reward, hell they offered it..........Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Really buddy?? I dont care what income they are on, if you find something that is not yours, you are NOT entitled to it. That is the problem nowadays. People feel entitled to things that are not theirs. Feel its ok to take from people that worked for it because they are "rich". Well guess what, that is a theif, plain and simple. I work hard for everything I have and although I feel bad that someone might be about to lose their house or are in a bad spot, but they put themselves in that spot, not me. To take from me because I am a boater and perceived to be "rich" is total crap. Think of it this way, had they just returned it to begin with they would have been $50 richer. Instead they got greedy and ended up wtih nothing. Mark and Travis sound like good friends to me. I would be glad to know them.

Re: A Big Thanks To My Fellow Boaters

Thanks veritas honus and mnypitboat for understanding that this is what I call thievery. These folks live very well and don't need my money. I have to state that they are new to this village and didn't understand how we do things around here. I'm not going to bash the State they are from, because I understand that folks do things differently than we do here.

We police this village pretty much on our own. We don't have the authority to arrest anyone, so we put pressure on them. So far we have ran out one pedifile, two narcotic dealers, and a crack head. We have children and seniors to look after. We are a small drinking village with a fishing problem.

Good Day!

That IS thievery... If you find something that does not belong to you, and just keep it, it's a crime. The crime is called "Theft by taking". The wording of the law may vary from state to state; but if you take something that does not belong to you (without permission, and with the intention of keeping it), you are a thief.

Small drinking village with a fishing problem, huh?:D Love it!!!;)

It has been my experience that even theives can become elderly.
Not every old person is nice nor full of integrity.

Glad your wife got her jewelry back and your buds were looking out for you :)

Well Said, I agree completely, a thief is a thief.

Sounds like you keep a clean tight small drinking village with a fishing problem, the way it should be. A thief is a thief, don't care how rich or poor.

Re: A Big Thanks To My Fellow Boaters

Are you implying that you have first hand knowledge of "pirates" lurking on iboats?

An old boss of mine would carry an AR-15, a 38, a 9mm, and a 12ga pump onboard while traveling the Carib. He would have the AR and the first shot at pirates. His lady the 9mm and the mate the 38 in case he missed. If they managed to board the boat I had the 12ga. to finish them off.

The only Pirates I ever saw was in Pittsburg when they played the Reds.

Anybody coming here for the roundup will meet my buds, Mark and Travis. I'll let you make up your mind about what kind of guys they are. They are well respected here by the young and the eldery.

I may very well have read too deeply into jjacobs statement. As you know, I always stay well aware of my surroundings, and everything going on around me. I do find his statement unsettling, though.

You are correct about one thing, J. No, they are not scary individuals.

You are quoting two guys that have military background. I joined to protect my Country from evil. I've been shot at and hit. I do know evil....and I know fear!
