Its funny you mention that, I have grown so used to the trains I barely notice when one goes by...............People who are visiting and spending the night always seem to notice them at 1 and 3am.8)
It has been a lot of work, but I am really enjoying it. The cabinet issue is a setback, its just taking some creativivity and some ingenuity to fix it.
We took a break for the holidays but have gotten back to work. At this point it is really just molding and some finish work left. The appliances are in, the floor is in, and the cabinets are all in as of today......

The first ones are of the fabrication we had to do since our blueprints have the window being 6 inches smaller.
The windows have their molding and are ready for stain....

so far my favorite part was puting up brick mouding and the screen door while in the middle of a snow storm. We lost a bunch of the hardware and had to dig through 5" of snow to find it.8)
