just picked up a 1946 scott atwater 3.6 horsepower outboard - model 462 and was curious as to whether my water pump or whatever mechanism that forces the water through the engine isnt working properly. on the lower unit housing there are three holes (located maybe 4 t 8 inches below the spark plug ) where im assuming water is supposed to be spitting out, although when i run the engine all that comes out of the holes is exhaust. messed around with the unit off and on all day but haven't really gotten inside to check for any types of potential blockages or just anything that would disable the water from coming up through the lower unit like it should. The motor has all original parts and other than this water pump issue runs like a charm. Any info about whether my problem is the water pump or whatever it my be would be much appreciated.

B.T.W when i removed the prop and plate behind it there was some water but not anything crazy substantial, should i be worried?photo.jpgphoto.jpg
