I have a 1993 4.3 OMC Cobra Model # 432APRJVB with vertical drive # of 987344. I am looking at a service manual set online that says its for 1993 OMC KING COBRA & COBRA JV models. It has a part # of P/N 508288. Will that work for what I have? I thought the JV stood for 'joint venture' as with Volvo but my outdrive is not a Volvo, it has the dog clutch. Maybe I need some schooling. Also what does the alpha-numerics mean in the model number?
Thanks, Brett

No, the JV does not stand for Joint Venture, that is the random model number and it's a JV model.
Besides the Joint Venture didn't start till 94 with the MD models.

432APRJVB

43 = 4.3 ltr
2 = 2 bbl carb
A = first model released for that yr
P = Power steering
R = Prop rotation
JVB = production year (1993)
