Early this morning about 6 of us got together to go for an ATV trek through the woods. In the first 100 yards of riding one of my friends (Keith) skidded across a frozen road and hit a tree. We called 911 and the ambulance took him away. Yes, he was wearing a helmet and protective gear.<br /><br />Keith broke his back in 2 places and has a fractured skull. Please say a prayer for him and his family. Keith has a wife and 4 children and could use the support.<br /><br />Thank you.<br />Bob

Prayers granted Bob. Sorry to hear about the bad news. ATV accidents are on the rise big time. Last year, I lost my dentist to an ATV flip over. 2 months ago two friends were going down a country road, one stopped short and the other ran over top of him. He is now paralyzed waist down. Then friday night a man was at the ER with a crushed shoulder due to slamming into a tree.<br /><br />Sure hope Keith pulls thru with no lingering after effects.

Update- Well Keith was transferred to a better equipped hospital and his family has flown in also. His back is actually broken in 3 places and additional facial fractures were also found in addition to the skull fracture. <br />Hopefully they will get him out of ICU so his friends can visit soon (we are all very anxious to show our support).<br /><br />The helmet Keith was wearing is only skuffed and not damaged. We suspect that it may have too loose and moved on his head when he hit.<br /><br />Keep the prayers coming and thank you everyone for the support.<br /><br />Bob
