i'm about to do some research that will benefit us all......figure out how to buy a cover that will fit the 64 Starchief without dropping beeg bux on a custom one, since no one makes boats this shape any more. getting it from the same place that i got my Holiday cover from.

the ones i'm starting with will be for walk-around cuddy cabin boats. my very limited experience on boats of this type tells me i should get the cover bigger than my boat to allow for the fact that my cabin is higher than most of these. the Q i have for the Starmada is to try to guesstimate how big i should order it, or if i'm full o frijoles yet again on my assumptions. the options that i'jm looking hardest at are the one for 20'5" long boat with 98" beam and the 21'5" boat with 100" beam.

all input welcome. i can't stand seeing the old girl get fried through another El Paso summer.:blue:

I'm curious also, I have plans to build a covered parking in the backyard, but a general cover would be awesome.

i finally decided to pull the trigger on the cover for 20'5" boat and got it on Saturday. it was about $370 +shipping n tax, IIRC. i had the Admiral helping me but could have done it solo, albeit with more climbing up and down. got it installed just it in time for 3 days of winds gusting to over 45 and dust storms, so it got a good initial wind test. overall, i'm pretty happy with fit....it goes up and over the upper windshield pretty nicely (used a section of pipe insulation along windshield top edge to protect cover), altho it is a bit wide and flappy at the sides. would i trailer theboat with this "trailerable" cover installed? quien sabe, but it works great for static storage. just the last few days' dust storms would have dumped an extra pound or so into the cockpit.

you are going to have to get some cover bows or you will collect a lot of rain water, and it will eventually rip the cover or drain into the boat, unless you spend an hour with a bucket scooping it out...bob

you're both correct. i was more worried at this point about it fitting the boat at all than about water accumulation. i'll get on it, since we should get some rain about July......:)
