A hole in the y pipe

Hello all. I have a 2002 Glastron 249 with a Volvo Penta (GM) 5.0L . I have pulled the motor out and found a dime size hole in my y pipe (no wonder I was taking on water ). Well now that I have my motor in my garage on the stand, I figure I'll do some great maintenance! The entire underside of the motor is really rusty and in bad shape. Including all the bolts, oil pan, gaskets, flywheel cover etc, etc....

Bottom line, I know the motor is a basic GM 305, but how do I go about getting things like the bolts, and the plates, the oil pan.... if I go the auto parts store they'll want to know the make and model of the car..... won't they? I'd like to find the sizes of all the screws and replace them with SS. I want to do this job right, but I don't want to spend the extra money for Volvo parts when lots of GM parts will do the same for cheaper.

Any thoughts

Bolts you can get at the hardware store.It is a 2002 so it should be a 1 piece rearmain seal.Check and see what side the dip stick is on and most any auto parts store can get the oil pan.

If I go to the auto parts store and tell them the year of the boat and that it's a GM 305, they'll be ok with parts huh?

Just so its not someone there for a part time job and have no idea of what they are doing.

Go to an auto parts store where they still smoke at the counter - you'll get someone who can help with parts, not just a cashier in a polo shirt.

Try a NAPA store. They sell Marine parts. Advance and Autozone do not.

High performance on line shops sell complete engine bolt kits in stainless. Very reasonable but if you can identify all the sizes lowes has a nice variety of stainless bolts and screws.

The oil pan is going to be different than a standard auto oil pan. The reason is the threads for the fittings that the dipstick tube goes to are special. Most chevy oil pans don't have the drain hole in the center of the pan, it is at the rear.

AZ that would be fantastic. Can you recommend a good shop by chance. the only online auto shop I've seen that acknowledges marine is NAPA.
