A few of our friends has small fish ponds that are landscaped in. Of course they have the waterfall and such. SOOOOO my wife asked how much.... I priced liners and preformed ponds. Told her it was just too much to spend right now. Next year okay, but that is not good enough for the queen. :D

I have an old bowrider. Floors are shot, interior shot, fuel tank full of flood water, and it is just downright too far gone. However the hull shell is in decent shape.

Here is my plan to make this possibly doable. Strip out the boat, cut off everything above the scrub rail. Dig a hole where we want the pond, and put the hull down in the hole. Do the necessary plumbing, backfill, and then fill the inside of the hull with sand and gravel. Line the sides with rocks and landscape around it. I could put the bow end up to make a waterfall. Maybe I just found a use for old hulls :D

This idea was approved by my queen :D I told her as long as the King has time to prep the boat for the April launch :D

I'd say that sounds like an awesome plan. You could even use a high GPH bilge pump as the pump for the waterfall. Or get a livewell pump and plumb it through the drain hole! More then one way (easily) to convert 120v to 12v ;)

If you play your cards right .... a backhoe will have to dig the hole for the hull..... dig it too deep and you might have to recycle the cap into the ground as fill ;) under the hull.

I have a bud that said he would put all the none burnables into a scrap car that is going to the shredder. For the digging, I've got a few grand sons that need to learn how to properly handle a shovel. :D (Got to get that winter belly fat worked down)

Where we are going to put this, the ground is very porous and easy to dig. That is why I need something to retain the water like the hull of the boat.

Here it is today with temps in the low 50's finally,,,,,,,,,,,,AND I"M INSIDE ON THIS OLE COMPUTER! :D

I believe it might be illegal to bury lazy teenagers under a boat hull converted to a pond in Ohio .......... might is the key word!

All ready have that planned out. Will use a net to remove them and then transfer them to a buds 2 acre pond. We don't plan on using exotic fish. Living next to the woods, I'm sure it would draw in some critters that would love eating fish. :D

Ayuh,...

Danm SS,... You're a Boater,+ your Family are Boaters...

Bury the stern of the old boat,+ create a waterfall from the bow back down to the stern....

Why have a plain ole hole in the ground, when you can have a Boater's waterfalls.......
