I have just picked up a Late Seventies model Boat & Motor. Merc 1150 in line 6 cy. It is blown, I know newer motors are very expensive especially on a 30 year old boat. Would it be wise of me to get this motor rebuilt than to look for a 15 year old Motor to put on boat. I am not sure about the lower unit. Mechanic states the gear oil looks good. I know its a gamble either way, just not sure what has best odds. Thanks.
