I need a little help, my 50 hp merc has a sn 335072, can someone tell me the year of mfg. also the part number for a water pump kit. And best recommendation for a repair manual.
I bought a complete kit from my Merc dealer for a 60. Was about 66.00 and had new impeller, gaskets, upper and lower pump body, O-rings and rubber washers. Didn't have a key for the impeller so don't loose that.
According to wiser people on this board you want to get the Merc manual rather than Seloc or Clymers. I think the Merc manual runs from about 1966 through abou 1974 or there abouts.
If you search for a while you can find one on ebay for a decent price. There are a number of them on CD. It's hard to tell if those are copies of Clymer, Seloc or Mercury though.
