Yes, I remember the Normandie/LaFayette in the harbor at New York as I passed over the GW bridge in Spring,1943. I remember also the other incidents from reading about them.

Glad you liked it. The videos tell quite a story. Last week I piloted a vessel from Long Island Sound to West Point and passed under the GW Bridge. Pretty ride up the Hudson.

Oh when the GW Bridge only had one level ........ now it has two levels since 1962 and cost $13 to cross.......
