One of my Chihuahuas had 4 pups 2 nights ago but one is to weak to feed himself.
My wife has been up for 2 days now feeding him a drop at a time.
He's moving around more than he was yesterday but he's far from being out of the woods yet.
I have 5 Chihuahuas, 2 males and 3 females and when ever they have a litter I name the pups "Paycheck"
but I'm going to have to find a name for this little guy because he's not going to be for sale.

My friend gave my son the runt of the litter (shar-pei) and he was the best dog I ever owned and made my friend jelous of his beauty and obedience.

Mine was the runt (only female) of the litter and she turned out to be the best dog I've ever had!

Re: A little miracle

He's not really the runt... or wasn't.
The 3rd one born was a bit smaller than him, but has since passed him.
The other two are just plain plump but this little guy just doesn't want to feed much.
He's pretty much staying the same size while the other 3 are putting on the beef.
But I'm not giving up!

...I name the pups "Paycheck"...
Might have to name the little guy "Payback" :)

Dogs like that become a great addition to the family. Dunno' why ... it's not like they know what you went through to keep 'em alive. Keep up the fight. They're so cute ... when they're not diggin' through one of the trash cans :D

If he makes it...Ironhead....would be an appropriate name.

Named a Mockingbird that bout 12 years ago. I cut a tree down in the yard that had a nest full of chicks in it that were so fresh they didnt have any feathers on them and were all beak. The next morning only one was still alive so I scooped it up and fed it crickets and worms from the bait store. The good lord must've been smiling on that bird cause it lived to fly away but always hung out in the yard. You could go out with a sack of crickets, rattle it and he would fly down eat from my hand.

Sad news, the little guy didn't make it.
He wasn't even trying to take his milk all day and about an hour ago he took his last breath.

I'm so sorry for you. It sounds like he knew it was his time and decided to just give up. I'm sure he appreciated all you and your wife did for him. What ever was wrong with him; he is at peace now...

Sorry to you and your wife Part-Time...:(
No doubt he got the best of care, suppose it just wasn't meant to be...

Re: A little miracle

Thanks guys....
I figured for sure this little guy would have been my next boating partner.
I found out in January that my big girl has cancer (she's only 7)

I don't usualy let myself get to attached to the pups because I know I will be selling them, but I'm getting all my Chihuahus fixed.
3 females and 2 males, no more breeding. Deep inside I'm always wondering where all those cute little puppies that I sold are at and if they are doing ok.

The field of Oncology has, is and will continue to make huge leaps forward. I hope and pray that your daughter's prognosis and outcome are good ones...

Oh sorry, not my daughter. I meant CJ, my sheapeard/lab mix that has been like my shadow for the past 7 years.
The vet let me know that her days are numbered and soon I will have to take that decision of bringing her to the vet one last time...

Re: A little miracle

Part-time: sorry for the loss of the pup and struggling through cancer. Dogs are so personal that it's like dealing with family members. Even worse when you have to decide to "take 'em in."
