A note from the owners of iboats to dockside

Summer is finally just around the corner! It’s been another long winter but we’re glad we could spent it all together here on the iboats' boards helping the time to pass until we could get out on the water and on our boats again.

The traffic to the message boards is picking up as it always does this time of year. That’s great news! It means more boating enthusiasts are coming to get help and meet new friends. Thanks to all of you who welcome these new friends and make them feel part of the group! There is, however, a down side to all of this traffic as well. The moderating needs have also picked up. We again publicly thank the mods for their selfless, volunteered time spent in keeping these boards running so well.

And now to an important boards-related matter. There are a few actively participating members who are taking more of the moderators time than is fair. You know who you are. This post is to request all members of the iboats.com boards to recommit to playing by the rules and not actively making additional work for the mods. Now don’t misunderstand this request. We are NOT asking you all to agree or to become conservative thinkers. ;) What we are saying is that we need to tighten down the screws on those few members who create excess work by either breaking the rules or spending the majority of their posts in trolling, bashing or cutting down others. Such activities are not in keeping with what iboats or these boards are about. We retain the right to limit access to the boards for those members who actively try to bring the quality of our group down.

In a nutshell, keep up the debates and conversations on politics, religion, or whatever else you want to talk about but if you only post just to troll or be negative, we are again informing you that we will take corrective action and block your ability to post on these boards. Thanks for understanding!

Thanks to all the volunteer experts, the time I spent on the boards this winter resulted in a boat that actually runs right. I may have driven a few people nuts with all my questions, but I sure learned a lot. :)

Perhaps a few nights in the brig will straighten out the crew.

Or a full day of swabbing the deck?

Ken
