Steak n' Shake steakburger....hands down!
They make em' when you order em'. They don't sit in the "red light district" wrapped up in paper until the next "heart attack waiting to happen" orders one.
Just mho. ;)

I'll agree with: "In & Out Burger". The best. Fresh.

Here's a tip, look at the bottom side of the cup.

That explains their philosophy.

As long as we are completely off subject: Rubber Frog why did you change your avatar? I loved the cat with the machine gun. It catered to the pent up hostility in me probably because in NY we can't get a decent hamburger for under $2.00.

Actually, I think that it is an improvement! I like Whoppers, too, but when I have a choice I go for a Famous Star at Carl's Jr. This may be somewhat local so if you don't have one, I'm sorry.

The Whitecastles are good Treedancer but usually kinda heavy on the onions for my taste.

I think the subject line needs changing to "burgers" It seens to be a more pleasant subject.

I like most burgers made with real beef and real tomatoes none of that catsurp crud, and no soyburgers, if I wanted a salad Id order one.

I am not sure you can get a good burger at anyplace that has a national tv commercial campaign.

When you need a meal bad, they got a bad meal.

Try anyplace that has an old Schlitz, Pabst, Old Style, or black label sign, and the words "eat, grub, brew, food, or a moose, deer, fox, bear, badger, wolf, turtle, fish, or old lady caracature painted on the front of it someplace. This should result in a world class burger. ;)

I haven't seen this in a while but when I was a kid, we used to get bumper stickers from In-N-Out. They looked just like the logo above the store pic. We would slice out the "B" and the "R" in Burger . . . The modified version was more common than the regular. Oddly enough they don't have bumper stickers anymore, I just checked :D

Don't be down talking my Whoppers, but you got it spot on. Used to frequent a place called the Bob Inn. Best Hamburger for the price and really made the beer taste good. Or maybe it was the other way 'round. :D

Didn't their slogan used to be: In and Out, in and out. That's what a burger is all about. Don't think about that too long. :D
