I am trying to learn a few facts about prop repair. If a prop made from a nickel-aluminum-bronze alloy- became bent what are the steps to consider for repair? Second senario is a crack in one of the blades not into the hub. Would you weld or braze? How do you know when it is good as new? Template?

Props are typically stainless or aluminum.Welding is the repair of choice.Bronze props are rare on typical applications. And would be brazed.
Prop evaluation really needs to be done by a prop shop. How much blade is missing how badly stretched are the blades, degree and location of cracks would determine if a repair is possible.
The prop needs to be balanced and they use pitch blocks to get the blades true.

Thanks steelespike
Would arc-welding be an option? Would a repaired prop have any quality or performance issues?

I don't have personal experience but Arc welding would seem to me the only way.
I know they replace quite large chunks of aluminum props.Stainless is tougher material and I think a lot of straightenimng would go on with stainless.I would call the quality close to factory on prop repair.
