A question about TuffStuff...

I'm having a real hard time deciding whether I should go with a vinyl over my new plywood deck or if I should use TuffStuff. My main question is do I have to roughen the surface of the plywood first? I put two coats of waterproofer on both sides of each piece and yet I still can feel the texture of the wood. Hopefully this means it soaked in. If I use the ToughStuff and DO have to roughen the surface, will it affect the waterproofing any?

Re: A question about TuffStuff...

Other way around. Not sure what proofer you used, but I doubt TuffStuff will adhere well to it. TuffStuff totally seals whatever it is on. It is fine to use a sealer on the bottom but if you used something other than the primer they suggested on the top, you may not be happy with the outcome or longivity of the job. It's a great product. Good luck.
