Ok I have a 1997 Evenrude 130hp 90 degree looper, and only the two upper cylinder are firing, I checked spark right at the lower coils and they were dead, also I found that the right bank , and I assume the right bank is the one , if I'm behind the boat , looking to the motor, so the right bank has a higher temperature than the left bank, actually very hot , but still I can touch it, and the water takes to long to start pissing out of the motor, like 30sec , or faster if I accelerate the motor, I just changed the impeller, I also pulled the thermostats and after applying some heat with a lighter they seams to work fine, compression is fine..any sugestion..will this be the power pack, the stator, temp sensors or, time base..thanks

Re: A question for the experts

It takes a few seconds to fill that block (right at 3 gallons) so a 30 second delay is OK. From what you posted it sounds like the pack or timer base as stator charge coils do a left and right bank which you have on upper cylinders. Disconnect thetimer base wire from pack and ohm from the white wire to the solid blue, grn pink, purp and should read 35-55 ohms, ohm the white wire to wires with trace and should read 120-130 ohms..

Personally I would check the stat's in hot water with a thermometer.
Just my 2 cents.

Checking them in hot water with thermometer is correct way to test t-stats, but the t-stats have nothing to due with tattletell as it is supplied directly off the rear of block..

Agree with that.
