Re: A rough run

Regarding your electrical problem, you will need a volt meter or test light, then see if you have power to the ignition switch on the red wire. If you do, then turn the switch to the run position and see if you have it on the purple wire. If you do have it, check the kill switch, connections and untill you find where the power stops.
If you don't have power to the red wire on the ign. switch, check the circuit breaker on the engine with the meter or test lite and make sure it's working. Don't just push the reset button and assume.

As far as you no spark, try this.

Re: A rough run

Ok. I di all you said a couple days ago except the kill switch. I bought this boat used and the kill switch had been bypassed. Well the guys at the boat shop found that this was the issue. The wires all taped together had come loose, effectivly engaging the kill switch. Even when I held the kill switch out and tried to get spark I had none because these wires were apart.

They are installing a new one tomorrow ans I should be up and running. I have copied all of your helpful techniques and will save them for future troubleshooting.

Also I will heed your advice to tube up and test early in the season.

I just wanted to say thankyou for sticking with this topic and helping me out.
