Re: A Steel Motor Mounting Adapter Bolted Onto A Steel Support Post.
A Come-Along from an upper steel brace is doing a good job lifting the motor. We install the 3/16? or ?? X 3? Sq steel post to support a sagging beam in the center of his garage before a boat was even a dream. The motor rides well and stands on a two wheeler but too top-heavy to leave unattended. That will be the motor?s ride back to the boat unless we bring the boat to it. I can see him barrel testing the motor on the stand at idle to low RPM. My 35 HP Chrysler (attached) does not make a mess and it has a water hose fitting close to the bottom of the barrel to drain it.
His 40 HP Evinrude has some deteriorated wires (attached) that he needs to replace and test the motor that he recently purchased. The motor was last registered in 1990 but garaged until about a year ago. This inside working option gives him an option to work almost anytime or weather conditions w/o the boat.
