I'd take the canteen. I'll assume it's aluminum which is easily buffed with bare cloth and could also be used as a mirror/signal. If I got REEEEALY desperate it could provide a nifty container for, uh, my excess liquid which might sustain me for few more days. I could also scrape a face onto it so I got somebody to talk to while I starve to death. Proir to which I would have gone bananas and would need the canteen/strap combo to fight off the never-ending hordes of flying werewolves. Finally, near the end, I could scribe my tales of heroism and adventure into the canteen, fill it with sand and lob it into the ocean where it will be found by Atlantians who will produce a made-for-TV movie about me and my heroic journey to knighthood among my new found family, the Sandcrabs.

alas, I too am bored. ;)

spots has left the building...

Well...being someone who doesn't mind living in luxurious conditions for extended periods - when push comes to shove...

I would grab the signal flare with striker.

I'd then use the flare to attract the attention of a passing cruise liner...

...and providing their facilities were up to scratch... I'd spend the next few weeks cruising the Pacific...before my eventual return home. ;)
