Re: Abandoned boat

Well, if someone was using my dock to go to the beer store next door, I'd just pack plumbers putty in their water intakes, so after they pulled out, their motor would overheat. :)

Re: Abandoned boat

Or you can convert it to an open bow and burn it at the stake if it resists

LOL, I think that just made my morning!:D
I busted out when I read that. Thanks, I needed it.
I am stuck at the office on OT today and am not happy.
Now, I think I can move on with my day:p

Re: Abandoned boat

Didn't you state that the owner ,( a woman always seen driving it ) was the one who docked it ? Why haven't the police been sent to her place to ask WTF (where's the fule ) ?? If some one can I.D. her , they can point the cops to where she lives. peter

What could this woman be thinking?

Reminds me of "a guy I know" who answered an ad for a 2 year old 18' I/O bowrider for $200-.
When he went to check it out, it was a Mariah, and in mint condition.
He wrote the check at warp speed, and when he asked why she was letting it go so cheap, the woman said that it had belonged to her husband.
He had just run off with his secretary and told her to sell the boat and send him the money. :D

Re: Abandoned boat

I would like an update on the situation. Did the owner come back? Were the police notified? Is the boat still there? Is the party still on for tomorrow?:D

Maybe it was gonna be repossessed or something?

Re: Abandoned boat

Thinking a bit more...
I wouldn't touch the boat..Call the cops, I see it now..

Mr.blah blah blah...We found Mrs X, it wasnt pretty...What did you do to her you sick so & so!!!

We have your prints ALL over that boat...lol:D

Considering the amount of time it's been since the O.P. gave an update I am worrying that Kev might be on to something. Anyone know EEdwards that might be able to prod him into giving an update?

In MD you can go to the DNR office and get the owners name and address from the reg. or HIN for $2.

Re: Abandoned boat

I'm shocked at the people that say set her adrift or to damage it.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
You guys sure aren't the kind of "boaters" I would want to be associated with.

I hope everything is OK with the boat's owner, can we get an update?

Re: Abandoned boat

If this becomes a common occurrence for you. (The woman returning and docking there) I would invest in one of those steering wheel "The Club" locks with my phone number engraved in it. This should get a response. LOL

I have on there now what i call a dock lock.My dock is on wheels you just roll it in or out of the water and you can crank it up or down for height so there is a metal frame work.Well i took a 8' pole that i slip under the top of the dock so it sticks out a few feet either side of the dock.So someone could try to dock if the want a pole sticking thru their boat. For got to mention weld a loop on the pole to run a chain and lock thru.

I am sorry you would do something like that. I hope you never need help on anything in the future. Sometimes a "beer run" is really a potty run for women. Yes they should ask, I would say that is the correct thing to do, BUT... what if the owner of the dock is not there?

Back to the original subject. Be kind, anything could have happened to the lady, possible abduction? I would call police just to be sure, always try to see the best in people first, the old saying goes screw me once shame on you, twice shame on me. Let's give her the benefit of doubt. Wouldn't you all feel terrible if something bad happened to her?

OOOOOOOOOOO WEEEEEEEEEEEE OOOOOOOOOOO

I wish the original poster would report what the result was.

Hey Lowkee...

Actually he did, although if you blinked you probably missed it:

Seems the boat was picked up by the Owner... but no one knows the reason why it was left in the first place!

Re: Abandoned boat

We have a case here of an abandon boat about 12 miles of the coast. A person towed it to dock and is claiming salvage rights. It is now a court case, the owner wants it back.
