get rid of it. I dont believe that anyone here is really capable of "rating" anyone else anyway. If you want to know who is knowledgable about boats just read all the other posts, you can find out real quick who knows their stuff. I dont know a lot but i am learning real fast by reading all the posts. Someday, when i know i have a right answer, i might actually help someone on this board!

I haven't been a memeber long but as Purse said, you don't have to read too many posts to see were the expertise is coming from. I vote to put the star were Schematic shows.<br />Shouldn't there be snow in that can Schematic?

The rationalisation of ratings versus ability to give/recieve good advice appears one sided. The advice given or offered is of value to whoever accepts it. They would give it a value based on the importance of their own experience. Information gained through this site is of much value to me so my two cents worth is to can the ratings system, I would tell by responces given how usefull my feedback has been!<br />Merry Christmass<br />Ross J.

Rating system: I'm a newcomer, -don't know the rating system, and not qualified to pass technical judgement on others in general. I do feel I have recieved very helpful responses to my first posting. To me, participation/willingness to help is agood nonsubjective indicator, and I would keep showing thenumber of postings/replies. I vote for deleting ratings otherwise.

Hey wipper!!<br /><br />No never fished Minnawanka. It looks beautiful in pictures. <br />I'm more of a walleye nut, and since we have a cabin on Moose lake, I don't get out to other lakes much. A "honey hole" and a bucket of leeches, and I'm set for the weekend!!<br /><br />Happy holidays!!

I been boatin' and workin' on them for 35 <br />years. Many times I had experience in the <br />area, but didn't respond because of the star<br />system. Glad it's gone! Guess I belive in the<br />equality of expression.<br /><br />Merry Time T.Bob

Ditto on the DEEP SIX. There is no need to rate someone on his expertise. About two dozen posts and you know where a guy is coming from. I have received some great help from an awful lot of you and chipped in where I thought I could fit. Some of the help I've received has come from Newbies.<br /><br />This only thing the ratings has accomplished is to GIVE ONE OF US A H*LL OF A COMPLEX!<br /><br />I only have two pet peeves about this board, but its only natural, people wanting to beef up an outboard, its like the little short guy. He's running as fast as he can. [two strokes just aren't made for it. The other is a guy too cheap to buy a manual. Half of the questions wouldn't have to be asked if a guy had one.<br /><br />But what the hell doI know? I've three manuals and I ask all the time. NUFF SAID. To me it does'nt matter what anyone's rating is, or how many posts they have made. I treat this as sort of an advise column. "Dear ABBEY",some of the advise is right on the money, while others just shoot from the hip. At least when you have a problem,you have some options on where to start to solve the problem.

If it has pistons and burns gas I'm gonna "beef" it up. Mercury's 2.5 starts at 150 HP and goes to 300HP, I think 2-strokes can handle it
