Terry,I scrubbed mine down with the kit provided.It does not scratch the boat.The big secret is to scrub the red part of the boat several times with the cleaner solution in the kit.<br />I was hesitant about it at first too but if you follow the directions and apply the sealer coats very thin and watch for runs you will be very pleased at the outcome.It's nice to look in the rearview mirror and see the shiney hull!<br />The water beads great too...

One tip that worked for me is to practise trailering in an empty parking lot using those cheap plastic orange cones we taught our kids to drive the car with! You can back up into spots, etc. until you get the hang of it. Much better than practising at the launch ramp with everyone staring at you neubie! Good luck with that nice looking boat too.
