acceleration bog

took my 86 webbcraft with 140 Mercruiser out for the 1st time this year today and when accelerating....puling a skier the engine would bog down quite a bit sometimes to the point it would kill the engine..any ideas?

It's Starving for Fuel...........<br />Could be Anything from the Tank, to the Carb...<br />And Everything in-between.......<br />I'd start with checking the Fuel Filters.......

I continue to have a similar bogging problem with my 1990 Mercruiser 3.0L. It started two years ago when I think water condensation in the tank got into the carb, and I had to have the carb rebuilt. <br /><br />The engine runs well now, but every so often when I accelerate it gets to a point where it bogs down and dies. <br /><br />I'm wondering if it may be the fuel filters, as I've never changed them - my bad.. I will look into it over the next while.

thanks for the info I will check the fuel filters and see how that works out.
