I have the AQ120B workshop manual that captmello gave me (twice!) and I have a Clymers, but neither lists a adjustment for the accelerator pump pushrod... Actually, my Clymers doesn't even mention my Solex 44 PHN.

I swear I've seen this listed somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can find it.

Thanks

OH!

When the book says to turn a screw 1 1/2 turns out, what does it mean? I think "1 turn" is 360 degrees, my friend is arguing that it means 180 degrees. Who's right?

According to my Seloc manual, which has multiple pages on the side draft carb rebuild BTW, the procedure is to either count the number of turns it takes to remove the nut on top of the spring, or measure the amount ot rod that extends above the retaining nut.

Which of these did you do???

Can you recall the amount of rod that was sticking up past the nut? That may be your only way to adjust it.

One turn = 360 deg. Friend WRONG!!!

That manual doesn't happen to be a PDF does it ;)

We did not pay attention, mostly because we mis-read a adjustment in the book that we thought was for this rod... It was not. I can probably guess well based on the color of the rod... but putting it back to normal wasn't my original goal, I hoped I could check a adjustment... but as it was will have to do...

Yeah, I always assumed I was right. But when he brought it up, it sounded like a sound theory as well. I'm glad I haven't been setting all my screws wrong for years ;)

its an actual book. It's my favorite knee pad until I have to look at a volvo penta manual written before 1980. The VP manuals, while covering all the specs are little help for a DIYer. The Seloc manual has 8 pages of pictures and directions for your carb.:)

How far through the carb rebuild are you? Did you find a rebuild kit for it?
