Just got to wondering after being around here almost 3 years, has it ever been publicized how many posts are need to achieve each level of rank? Or is that a well-kept secret?

Guess I have nothing better to do this evening and couldn't find out using the search feature. Just got to wondering is all.

It used to be noted in the FAQ section, but I can't find it now . . . Something like 2500 for Commander, 3000 for Captain, 4000 for Rear Admiral and so on, below and above that. Don't see it in the Forum help list either . . .

Edit: Where'd you find that Spinner?

Thanks SBN! I've always kind of wondered about that.

Can Ensign be changed to Midshipman for those of us from the Colonies? (That's one post nearer for me!) 8)

Only 224 more to go!

BTW SBN,
Shouldn't Lieutenant Junior Grade follow right after ensign??

Under the old old iboats (the version before the revised version way back then) I was an Admiral and That is when JB was the Ancient Mariner and Sloopy was honored as Dock Boy.

Than came change change change change

It is not the number of posts that count for me, but their quality............hey, hang on, I'm not pointing the bone at any one............then again, maybe i could.

Right Phil !! Also demotion should be introduced when producing too much drivel ...just like in real life! New rank could be 'drivel-zapper' ? Or master-carpenter to appoint those who will have to walk the plank.....oh those good old days 8)
