Achilles Hypalon material

I'm considering buying a 1983 SD124 in excellent condition but I also looked at a 1988 SK124 in reasonable condition . The only difference I can see apart from the Aluminum floor and the fiberglass transom is that the SK material seemed thicker. I know from the brochures say that the the SU models come with a thicker 6 ply but does not say anything about the SK or SD. Does any one know if there is a difference as I'm torn between the two.

I don't remember anything about the fabric being thicker....There may have been a denier difference though.

This was the response from Tom at Achilles

"According to my data they both should be 840D fabric"


Although the SK to me seems thicker and less flexible
