Action marine 17

Question for ----Fastbullet.----What speed can I expect from an ---Action marine 17 with a 97 Evinrude 150 Ocean Pro with lightning gearcase and 24" raker prop.-----Thanks much.

What's the gear ratio of the case?

Drilled or undrilled Raker? Prop stock or worked? Jackplate? Lightning 1 or 2??

Stock raker.----Paid $25 for the lower unit and did not check or care if it is a #1 or #2 model.---25" stock transom on this boat.

With stock Raker ,propshaft should be around 2-3 inches below bottom of pad for starters. Need to get in the 5500-5800 RPM range. Should put you in 65-70MPH area depending on setup and how big yer boys are . Need to pin the carrier on that unit if you run a surfacing prop, and that unit only has a lifespan of about 100hrs as the housings warp. Also drill out the passage from tab back into case as some where to small and didn't supply enough water to cool prop hub which melted hubs out.

This gearcase has a wedge in place to keep the carrier from spinning.----As far as I can tell the case is 2006 or newer.-----I will be happy at 65 mph.
