New here....

1990 Four Winns Candia 180
4.6 Litre V6 OMC Stern Drive.

Here's the cliff notes version. Took boat out on Saturday- Ran it wide open on and off for about 15 minutes- temp was good. Went to docking area to pick-up family. Lake is low- went in to low water before I could raise the trim and the engine stalled as I went aground. Raised trim and pushed back (dropped trim down before starting). Started right up. Picked up family and within about 10 minutes had overheated. Moored it overnight- started right up again in the morning. Ran for 10 minutes and held at about 160- then out of nowhere it overheats- shot right up to 200- 220.

Could I have clogged it or tore up the impeller w/ I ran aground?

Please help!

More than likely clogged something. You might as well look at the impellor first. Fortunately, the impellor is very easy to inspect on the Cobra. Jaut take off the drive back cover and remove the impellor housing and take a look. When was the last time you replaced it?

Unknown- I have only owned the boat a short time- I know before I had it they did a head and gasket job, and put a new battery in.
