Add-on Tilt and Trim

I have just bought a 1987 20' Sweetwater pontoon with 60 HP Evinrude. Through a separate purchase a few years ago, I have a Minn-Kota tilt and trim. Is there any real advantage to putting this on my pontoon? It would push my motor 5-7" back, and I probably would have to replace my steering cable if there is not enough slack available to make the reach back. I have to pull the engine, anyway to strengthen a weak transom. Just don't want to possibly create more issues for little or no advantage. Thanks!

no not really T & T has some advantages, mostly when in shallow water but that's about it.
