My Father-in-Law, great guy and recently widowed, and his bud are cleaning up his ancient Wellcraft for fishing excursions. I was drafted to tune/service the old Lark II and that is done. Yesterday he asked me to help him install some gunwhale lights up front and in the stern, using a double-throw/on-off-on lighted toggle switch. The idea is to have some colored down lights inside so he and his bud can see their feet and the deck after dark. I put in the lights, red in front and blue in stern, but have no experience with lighted toggle switches. All the ones we see here on Iboats are 4-pole, 5-pole, etc. I can wire a simple double-throw toggle switch with 3 poles cause I used to help my uncles with their Model A/T resto projects, but more than a 3-pole switch throws me. Can someone post a simple diagram showing me how to wire a double-throw, lighted toggle switch?...the fewer poles the better. I am visually oriented, so a simple hand-drawing would do. Don't want to order a switch with a diagram we can't understand.
