I will try to slip off from work a little early today and go out to the boat and take a better look and get some pictures of everything too.

NH, we did that too. The debris that was clogging the screen would go to the bottom of the pickup tube and sit there until suction was applied. Then it would clog the screen again, drove me nuts for like 2 weeks
Similiar to this but inside the pickup tube

I didnt see the part above about catching the trash from the pickup tube, I wish I did. At first i wasn't able to remove the pick up so i blew through it with an air tank. I am pretty sure i seen a large flake of trash shoot out before the bubbles came. I was then able to get the fitting to unscrew and the inside of the pickup tube was good and clean.

Is there any type of replacement tube where you could add a larger external strainer like most automotive pumps have on the bottom? There is just a small piece of metal mesh inside the tube that I was able to remove. A larger strainer would allow more fuel in even if some trash was sucked into it.

I will take it out saturday and see if it is fixed. Then in a couple weeks when I bring the boat home I will drain and try to clean the tank out the best I can. there was a little more trash in the tank than I had thought.

Ayuh,...... Just leave the screen out, toss it overboard, ya don't need it,......

Any trash that might be picked up will end up in the fuel filter where it belongs,......
Or, at worst, it'll plug up the anti-siphon valve, which is much easier to remove, 'n clean,.....

I pulled it out but put it back in the tube. If it is fine to leave it out I will probably pull it out before I take it out saturday morning.

I just wanted to report back and say that the boat ran absolutely perfect today. I replaced the hose from the tank to the engine with the a1-15 hose and removed the screen out of the bottom of the pickup tube. Ran the boat pretty hard for about a 30 mile round trip today with zero issues.

Thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction
