Hi all, I am adding a water separator to my 2001 Johnson 135 and need to know if I should put the fuel primer bulb between the tank and the separator or the separator and the motor? Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance

there are 2 different thoughts on this, but i agree with Rick, this way keeps crud out of the check valve in the bulb. if using a built in tank, i found it best to fill the filter with fuel, before screwing it on, makes priming the system much easier,

Thanks to both!! I do not have a built in tank I hope adding the separator does not cause more problems than its worth. But the boat is stored outside and condensation does form inside tanks even when full. Heck condensation forms overnight in the tank overnight between day trips and I want to keep as much water as possible out of the inside of the motor hence the separator.

Adding a seperator is the best investment you could make to prevent any water logging in your fuel system and carbs and breaking down in the middle of the lake or bay looking for a tow back to port. It will stop at the fuel canister. Remember each season you must change with a new filter canister and in the course during the boating season make sure to remove after so many hours of usage orfull tanks of fuel. Remove and empty to see if it is doing it's job and to see if there is any water accumulating in it. Last drops of liquid will be water if any. Refill with gas 3/4 to the top for easier prime and install as in Fleet Admiral's diagram after tank and before fuel bulb. Good Luck!
