I am looking to add accessories to my Lowe 1457 V without punching unnecessary holes and to make my fishing more enjoyable. I would like to hear ideas and see photos from you all and what you have done to your own boats.

I started with the necessities and that was anchor management. I wanted the anchor up front but not have to run from the back to the front as I change locations frequently. So I added an Atwood anchor pulley to the aluminum breasthook using the existing factory machine screws.
After fishing in 25+ mph winds this past weekend and last night, anchor #2 will be added to the rear very soon.

My boat is stored bow first on the shore and I lug the battery and trolling motor about 50 yards to the shore and then to the back of the boat each time I fish which is almost every day weather and my daughters activities permitting. Moving the trolling motor and battery to the front will be a major advantage.

I am planning to add a plate to mount the anchor pulley and a transom mount trolling motor using the existing breasthook holes. A quick-release bracket would be cool.

Then I want to add a mini-platform in the bow to cover the battery, anchor, rope, life jacket and to stand on when entering and leaving the boat. It is too unstable to stand in this area so it?s more for storage but needs to be stable too.

I also want to add rod holders but have not found any that are reasonably priced and mount to the gunwale without drilling. Am I being to anal about this? I am thinking I would rather have recessed rod holders in the seat and the plastic models are cheap but are fixed as far as position and would require a 2? hold in the seat. I would use the rod holders while fishing and while moving so all ideas are welcome.

My boat is stored on the shore 365 days a year so I may add a cover to keep the water and leaves out.

A want, not a need would be to convert the center seat to a live well. If I did this, I would probably remove and replace the center seat but keep the factory seat to sell with the boat. A live well on one side and a cooler on the other would be great but I want to maintain the ability to row.

I would really like to see and hear about ya?ll modifications??..SV

My initial suggestion would be to sell your boat and buy one with a live well, storage, and a bow casting deck. Adding all this stuff adds weight and you may run into safety issues. That said, Cabela's and Bass Pro both sell rod holders that clamp on the side of the boat. But why are you against drilling holes to mount the brackets for rod holders? the other modifications you make are certainly going to be noticeable. There are some very nice, inexpensive holders available and you don't have to deal with the clamp affairs that always seem to come loose. On a small boat you can use a carry on cooler for a live well. Again, Cabela's and Bass Pro sell the stuff to make this work. You also said you want to move the trolling motor to the front yet you don't want to run back and forth in the boat. How do you intend to operate a transom mounted motor mounted on the bow from the back of the boat? Besides, you also need to turn the head around on the motor as the tiller handle would be pointing forward.

Well, I don't plan on selling the boat, I just want to add some stuff so fishing is more fun. Mine looks like this:

Adding a piece of 3/4" plywood between the front seat and the breasthook about 14" off the floor with some supporting 2X's will probably add about 30 lbs. Everything I want to put under it is already in the boat and most everyone on the forum has told me to shift weight forward.

I don't plan on using the storage deck for casting, I will be hanging off the bow on a small platform so I can control the transom mount trolling motor since the tiller will be pointing forward.

the head on the trolling motor can be turned around very simply. so you don't have to hang of the bow.
