I am adding an external pulse fuel pump to my 1985 Evinrude 70 Horse. I am going to make a plate to mount the pump on, my question is, since I am using a pulse hose from my crank case instead of it mounting against the engine block and getting its pulse, will it matter of the pulse hole on the back of the pump is blocked by my mounting plate ?

thanks

????------There was never a provision to mount the 70 hp pumps directly to a pulse port on the block.---Order a pump with 3 barbs on it.

Hi Racer, I did order one with 3 barbs on it, but it still has the open hole in the back to where it would be able to mount to the block if the engine was set up to take a block mounted pump, and i was making sure it wont hurt to block that hole with my bracket

Hmmmm, that fuel pump should be sealed in the back. What is the part number of the pump you ordered? Correct part number is
0398399

It shows that 0398399 has been discontinued and to use part Number 438557, which is what I ordered. Thanks
