Hi
I have a 1973 Sleekcraft that I have restored and refinished. I am trying to add to the bow a picture of the hulk. Since I am not the artist, and don't want to spend a fortune, I was wondering if there is a trick to get the thing to lay down.
I took a poster, freyed the edges, and used urethane to lay it down with, It looked great and held fine a week. Then I added two coats over the entire bow to even it out and it came out great. But for some reason, after setting, it wants to come loose at the edges, even with the helmsman urethane coating on it 3 layers thick. I allowed plenty of drying time between coats.
Is there a special glue I need to paste the picture on before I put the final coats on?
I'm not wanting to abandon this and just refinish, but I will if I have to. The rest of the boat looks great and no problems. Just can't get this thing to stay down.
Appreciate the help.
D.
chngingtymes@kc.rr.com
