Re: Adding to my list of problems

There must be a hole in one of the boots because there would have to have been a ton of water in the boat to get in there but after all this bull**** nothing would surprise me. I was going real good there for a while and then the pins:mad::mad::mad:

I am making progress a little at a time. Do they sell replacement washers for in between the bell and the bell ring? Will it be a problem if I do not screw the trim sensor and the limit switch back over the hinge pins?

This is what it did look like when I brought it home. Now I know why every bolt and screw is siezed.

Hey, I just put new ones in yesterday, $1.37 each at dealer. They are called synthane bushings by Mercruiser. BTW you put red Locktite on the pivot bolts and torque them to 90 foot pounds. Although where you go ( salty & corrosive) you might ask the locals whether they do the locktite.

Yea Bill I will definetly take em, although battling with hinge pins sure does make me nervous . I will drop the torch off one night this week after work(had some oil burner problems over the weekend). NHGuy I think your right about finding out wether to use loctite or not with salt water. Maybe just not red loctite? I ordered a wheel bearing puller and I just need to get a new shift cable and I have everything to complete the job.

those washers are glued on they have a wax backing you take off but if you can get the others off put the hinge pins in then put the washers on because if your jsut a hair off center it will be a pita to put the hinge pins in when you go to install the belhousing to the gimbal ring
