Adding wood to engine bay to mount electric wires - Interior paint ok?

Im mounting a small 1x2 piece of pine wood to the back of the seat in the engine bay. I cant put screws through as it will be seen from the inside of the boat. I painted the wood with white interior paint and planned on gluing it to the fiberglass. It is about 10" from the front of the engine. Is this safe or should I use some special paint?

if your in an area with lots of humitidy, the pine and interior paint will soon deteriorate. however for its intended use, you should be fine.
