Adhesive for attaching decking to stringers.

I did a complete rebuild of my Stratos a dozen years ago when money was a bit tight. The rebuild was solid but through the years, water made it into the deck where a hatch was not sealed properly to the deck. The transom had also gotten some water into it so it will be replaced along with the deck. I picked up 3/4" Coosa 36 and NidaCore to redo the deck and transom.

The last couple of days, I cut the cap off of the deck and found the stringers and bulkheads to be in perfect condition. All of the foam is dry which is a good thing.

When I originally laid the deck on the stringers and bulkheads, I laid a bead of an epoxy, cabosil and cut glass mix on top of stringers/bulkheads and weighted it down. As evidenced by the deck removal yesterday, the hardened mix on top of the stringers and bulkheads is still rock solid and it spread out creating a flat surface.

I believe that it was on this forum where someone had mentioned a new adhesive for securing decks to the stringers/bulkheads. I am well aware of the use of 5200 or PL Bond Premium but am looking at options other than my epoxy mix.

Any new adhesives that you know about?

I did a resin cabosil and fiber mix for mine and a few screws for clamping. Don't mess with what works imo.

Lay strips of resin saturated cloth on top of the stringers and frames. Now using ss wood screws, screw thru the deck into the stringers and frames. That is the best and strongest way to attach the decking, IMO.

One more thing. You will want to cover the deck in resin and cloth. 2 layers of light cloth or one layer of heavy cloth will usually work, although more can be better.
