Adhesive Question

I'm confused about what adhesive to use where. My project involves laminating plywood together and "bedding" stringers to the hull. I've seen some folks are using PL glue, Epoxy PB and 3M products. What is the best way to go for these applications? Will one product work for both apps? I've worked with PL glue and found that it tends to expand (even with pressure applied) as it cures which I consider a problem for laminating plywood.

Check the stickey's above about the proper "peanut butter" to use for your application. I think it would help,I haven't yet but I will be as I"'m doing the same thing to mine. Actually I have but I need to refresh my memory.....

for laminating the wood together, you use titebond III. for bedding the stringers and transom, you can use PL and come back with peanut butter, or simply use the peanut butter

When using epoxy, you can use thickened epoxy to laminate the wood, bed stringers/transom, and make your fillets. Paint the wood with thin(not thickened) epoxy to waterproof it. You can even mix fairing compound from your epoxy.

use a pre-thickened epoxy paste - something like Wet Dry 700 which contains kevlar (tm) and feldspar. about 100 bucks per gallon. Will work for both applications.

You might find the first link in my signature helpful. What kind of boat do you have? Year, MFG, Length. etc...
