Adhesives

I have started the prep work to repaint my 1987 V4 motors. On the engine covers there are a couple of logo type plastic parts that say "OMC SeaDrive" and attach to the cover by an adhesive but will want to reinstall. The adhesive is black in color and still a bit plyable after 17 years.<br /><br />Any suggestions on what adhesive to use?

how about 3M's 5200<br />or for less permanent, and faster dry time 4500

I know 5200 would work but it would be permanent - permanent. Don't you mean 4200 & not 4500 for the alternative?

I believe your right, the rapid cure version is the 4200.
