Adjusting Float on my carb??

Hello, I have a 1987 inline 4 Merc I/O and I am trying to give my engine a tune up. But the manual isn't clear on where to measure the float adjustment on my carb (no pictures) and obviously the float is oddly shaped so each spot would give you a different measurement reading. So assuming you measure from the base of the carb when adjusting the drop and float level, but to where? the dimples on the tip of the float? the extreme bottom of the float? the top of the float? Thanks in advance

Oh yeah, it's 120 HP motor and I'm not sure about what model carb it is. All it says is 'Merc carb' on the tag. hope this helps

Take the carb with the new stuff in it to the parts man where you bought the carb kit. Ask him, He will show you or get someone to show you the right way.---------Ask how to due float height and drop. Both are needed.
