If you read my previous post "Smok'n" then you know I rebuilt all the basics of my engine ('66, 6 hp Evinrude). I read in the manual to back out the low idle knob about 1-1/2 turns after rebuilding the carb. It cranks fine, but what do I do with the knob now? What does it do to turn it in or out from here? Learning, learning, learning....

Re: Adjusting Low Idle Knob

put motor in gear.....whether in tank or on boat in water.turn lo speed needle in (clockwise).....motor should speed up....(this is at idle speed)......when it starts spittin' back....back out 1/8th....or until it clears up..spittin' means too lean...don't back out too far .....will cause flood condition.,..but dont worry... will only foul plugs...(just turn in until runs great...spits back..back out a hair)
