Just an update guys. I have the motor running great. Starts on the first pull.

Thanks for the help on getting it going. Can't wait to put it a lake and see what it does.

Well we took the boat and motor out on its maiden voyage (at least since I've owned it) and it ran great! Thanks to all of you who helped me getting it going. We had a great time.

BTW - went through 1 1/2 gallons of gas in about 3 hours. That's including the time we sat fishing. Seemed like a little much. Oh well. We had a lot of weight in the boat.

Glad you had a successful maiden voyage! Of course, now your jinxed for all eternity, but oh well :) Yea, these old motor are, well lilpigs (couldn't resist the pun) when it comes to gas :/ Gotta remember it was only a nickle, or so when they were made and a fair bit goes unburnt, which is why the test tank water can get so dirty, so 1.5 gal in 3 hrs is about right. You can also try raising the motor and/or moving the weight around in the boat to find the optimal set up too. A 6 gallon tank should last you all day with a 1-2 gal left just in case.
