The warm up lever cable should be your throttle cable. Do you still have the old cable, if so is the adjusment untouched? You have 2 flat head screws on the air vent cover where the cables mount there is a little plate that holds those cables in place, this is where the adjustment (if you really need adjusting) will be done.

If the motor was running well before you replaced the cable then I would try to go by how many rounds the adjustment nut was up or down on the old cable, then adjust the new one as close as you can get by looking at the old cable.

You shouldn't half to mess with the linkage on the carbs, if your motor isn't running right then you may want to link and sink the carbs other then that try and leave it alone and just adjust your cable. I have a 1978 85hp that should be about the same.

Re: Adjusting Warm up lever cable on my 115.

An adjustment screw is likely located on the remote control box which adjusts the warm up lever travel for the correct starting speed. If starting speed is too low the engine will be hard to start. Too high and your WOT RPM will be too high.

Do you have the word "START" marked on your throttle cam? If so move the warm up lever all the way to START position. The mark adjacent to the word START on the throttle cam should point directly at the center of the throttle lever roller.

If it is not, lower the warm up lever back to the RUN position. Adjust as necessary by turning the warm up lever adjustment screw (slotted screw located on the front of remote control) clockwise to retard or CCW to advance the starting speed. Then re check adjustment.

Thanks HT I'll try that. If I need to lower or raise the Idle, where is that done?

you should probably be at around 650 to 750 RPM under load and in gear. What is your idle RPM at? If off, adjust the idle adjustment screw as needed.

You warm up lever adjustment should be done and checked when the idle speed is changed enough to require throttle cable trunnion adjustment.
