I think we should have a Electronics Forum. You've got most of the bases covered here...why not? :D

Great idea. I'll be searching that one, too. That is as soon as I get the motor going.
:p

Admin5 said earlier:
"Thanks for the suggestion rolmops! I only found it today so please everyone email me at boards@iboats.com with you good suggestions or I might miss it like I almost did with this one!"

So Mumblerone, email him just to be sure. ;)

/Bear

I agree. I put the same idea down as a reply to the other admin post about changing of the forums.

Hopefully a lot of people that are on the same track will reply, so the powers that be know if there really is enough interest to add a new forum.

Thanks again for such a valuable service.

Bob

I think we cover any electronics questions with the Fishing and Boat Question Fora.

They are too few to warrant another Forum.

Just one opinion.
:)

Howdy,, Mumbler.

I regularly visit THT. I don't think their Electronics Forum does much. A few posts with everyone in the world adding $.02. Very few fresh water oriented posts at all.

THT has had a real drop in traffic since there has been a fee to use about half of it.

Re: Admin5 - Electronics Forum

Good Idea, I would have never bought a Furuno E/S with a high voltage alarm had I known the problem and expense it would have caused. When I read back through the forums of how many other operators have found a voltage regulator problem after purchasing furuno I am amazed.

Re: Admin5 - Electronics Forum

We have actually been pondering upon this lightly for some time. The question is...do we leave it at electronics or break it out further (VHF, Fish Finders, Radar, GPS etc...)

So far we are of the opinion that we should add the electronics forum and see how it goes. Let's get more ideas from everyone and we'll probably make a decision this next week.

Everyone have a fun and safe boating weekend!

Admin5

Now why didn't I think of this? That's a great idea!
Anyhow, Admin%, how about making it "Marine electronics", which will cover all bases?

Ditto on the Marine Electronics...don't want to fine tune too much. Then we have the whole picture. :)

I think it would be nice if everything was in one forum but you could flag your question, I/O,Outboard,Electrical,etc..

Either way, I think engine electrical should stay in with the engines forum but have a separate forum for VHF,Fish Finders, and such.

Just a thought.
