If she has a Google ID ... I think Chrome will populate bookmarks automatically based on her login to Google.

Thanks WIm! Just as I was reading your post yesterday, we get a call from my Mother In Law, saying she had just shipped her computer to me, asking me if I could fix it! When asked what was wrong, she simply said, I don't know, but I know you can fix it, bye bye!

I'm pretty sure she doesn't have a Goggle ID. I know we don't either.....

install teamviewer while you have it. you can then log into it from anywhere to fix it from now on....lol.

also, you probably know this but you shouldn't be using the admin account as your everyday account. too risky. with UAC (user access control) this is a much less aggravating task.

Nothing went wrong, per say........... It's my mothers computer who is 3hrs away. She found her Admin login, so she now has Admin capabilities.... :pray2::facepalm:

If you are doing the Tech Support thing for your Mum at a distance, you might want to look at one of the remote access software apps....I asked the question a few weeks ago, in here, I do my Dad's....he is just across town... 1/2 hour drive each way, and the consensus was TeamViewer. It has saved me about 10 hours driving so far.... :)

edit: did I mention that non commercial use is free? :)

Oh %^$#@!(( !! Just read post #24

My mum wouldn't let me do that in a million years. Even tho all she does is e-mail and surfs the net. She takes the "hide your password, or, don't let anyone know your password etc" to heart. Even with her trusted family members.....

Look at using Chrome Sync. I've used the Firefox version to transfer bookmarks, saved passwords, whatever I choose. Makes updating a new PC a snap or keeping the browsers the same if you use more than one computer. like a home desktop and a travel laptop.

Click on the Computer tab in this write up - https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/165139?hl=en&ref_topic=3421437

That looks like it's transferring data from device to device. I need User to User on the same device.......
